Use Case Summary
Training Need:

Provide a stopgap means for Sales Force to record potential sales and generate sales potential summary graph.
Challenges:

Company leadership saw an urgent need to have the Sales Force predict sales potential.

The roll-out date of an extensive upgrade of company reporting systems had been delayed significantly, and there was no reporting app in the legacy system.

Sales force had not been previously required to calculate sales potential or submit reports.

Even after training on now to use a sales funnel to calculate sales potential Sales Reps had no means to produce required reports until system upgrade was complete.
Project Approach:

Think outside the box to provide users with the opportunity to use what they learned on the job.

Develop a job aid that could format sales data into a report and automatically calculate and summarize sales potential.

Create job aid in MS Excel to leverage Sales Rep familiarity with spreadsheet use to generate required sales report.
Results:

Data provided by Sales Reps via MS Excel Job Aid met leadership requirements for sales potential estimates until new systems were rolled out.

Sales directors and regional directors successfully used a similar Job Aid to concatenate Sales Rep’s spread sheets to produce district and regional reports.
